Stereotype A

Attended the 46th Annual Sakura Matusuri in Washington, DC, this weekend. It just so happens to be the largest outdoor Japanese street festival in the U.S. Click below to see pics.

One Child Left Behind

"I appreciate your humor and your passion for culinary arts." Marco's teacher

Apparently, the feeling is not mutual as I found this note ripped up on the sidewalk. Maybe Marco hoped it was a Mary Kay Letourneau style love note and was heartbroken after discovering it's mundane nature. Or maybe he just really hates his teacher.

I Would Have Taken Alexis' Picture

Minor celebrity spotting on the streets of DC on April 2, 2007. David Arquette was in town promoting his upcoming independent film The Tripper at The Black Cat. I saw him at the corner where his bus was parked. I briefly considered taking his picture as proof, but saw that he was on the phone and didn't want to be rude. Also, I just didn't care that much. I do respect his effort, though, as he is self distributing the film, and using this tour to gain word-of-mouth support for the movie. Based on the trailer, I'll probably see it.

The movie has a small capital connection. Former member of DC punk band Gray Matter turned comic book writer Steve Niles is an executive producer. He wrote 30 Days of Night which is now a motion picture starring Josh Hartnett scheduled for release in October 2007.

Move Over Hummer?

Who says we don't love them hoes? Yes we do! The latest urban vehicular must-have is straight outta the construction site. It may get poor gas mileage and be a bitch to parallel park, but these tanks with articulated arms are all the rage -- road rage that is.
